'Bab-e-Pakistan' project would prove to be a magnificent monument to the transmigration, which took place at the time of establishment of Pakistan. IT would always keep reminding the nation the sacrifices rendered for the sake of freedom and the generations to come that as many as 14 million people had to migrate.
Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi expressed these views while addressing a function held in connection with the 'Bab-e-Pakistan' launching ceremony, disclosed an official here on Monday.
The Chief Minister reminded that 800,000 out of the total number of migrants were Muslims and in order to get the nation to have the blessing of freedom, 700,000 Muslims laid down their lives. He pointed out the presence of provincial chief ministers of various provinces and other public representatives in the function reflected the peoples' solidarity and common national objectives.
He said the day of August 14 dawned on the country with the freedom songs on the lips and the colours of those sacrifices in the eyes, which the forefathers of the nation rendered during the struggle for freedom.
